Legal & Compliance

Pathways Matter CIC is committed to transparency, integrity and responsible practice across all our consultancy, engagement and digital product work. This page outlines the key legal, governance and compliance information relating to our organisation, services and digital resources.

Company Information

Pathways Matter CIC (Company No. 17200540) is a registered Community Interest Company operating as a UK‑regulated social enterprise. Our legal structure and Articles of Association ensure that our work delivers clear, measurable benefit to families, communities, and grassroots organisations across Kent and beyond.

As a CIC, we are bound by statutory duties overseen by the CIC Regulator. This includes:

A locked‑in social purpose — our Articles of Association legally commit us to advancing equitable community‑led engagement practice.

An asset lock — all assets, resources, and surpluses must be used for community benefit and cannot be distributed for private gain.

Reinvestment of profits — any surplus generated through consultancy, training, or commissioned work is reinvested into subsidised or free support for small groups, micro‑charities, and underserved communities.

Transparency and accountability — we publish an annual Community Interest Report outlining our activities, impact, and how our resources have been used to benefit the community.

Ethical and people centred practice — our Articles include additional commitments to equity, inclusion, lived experience leadership, safeguarding, and organisational listening.

Pathways Matter CIC operates as a mission‑driven social enterprise, combining professional consultancy standards with a clear public benefit mandate. Our governance model ensures that every programme, partnership, and commissioned project contributes directly or indirectly to reducing isolation, strengthening family and youth voice, and building the capacity of grassroots organisations to listen, understand, and act.
